Global Stamping Friends Blog Hop: Theme - Birthday Celebrations

Welcome to this month's Global Stamping Friends Blog Hop! Our theme for this month is Birthday Celebrations. As it happens my husbands birthday is in June and it falls on Father's Day this year too.

I think you know by now that I live in Evergreen, CO. It is located about 35 minutes outside of in Denver in the mountains. So for this year's B-Day card I thought I would play with stamps and dies that go with where we live.

The 1st set that came to mind was Nature Sings. I love the Reindeer in this set. While we don't have Reindeer in Evergreen we do have Elk, Deer and the occasional Moose. I chose to use the smallest image and stamped it in Soft Suede on Very Vanilla Cardstock. I used my Everyday Label Punch to cut it out, cutting it down to just fit around the image (I love punches that will allow you to do this). I matted the image onto another full size Everyday Label of Soft Suede Cardstock. Popping it up with Dimensionals.
The darling little stick tree dies in the Winter Woods Bundle were my next choice. I cut one in Early Espresso and the other in Soft Suede. I had already cut the Birthday from the Well Written Dies using some Early Espresso Cardstock. I then Heat Embossed the Wishes from the Well Said stamp set using White Stampin' Emboss Powder onto a strip of Soft Suede and cut it out with a little rectangle die from Farmhouse Framelits (Retired). I die cut a piece of Crumb Cake Cardstock with the 3rd largest of the 4 Stitched  Rectangles  that are part of the Stitched Rectangles Dies. Using Multipurpose Liquid Glue I adhered the Birthday and Wishes as shown. Next, I used the Corrugated 3D Embossing Folder on a piece of Very Vanilla Cardstock (spritzed with Alcohol). I mounted this onto a Early Espresso Mat and then adhered them to my Soft Suede Card Base. I used Liquid Glue to adhere all of the card elements to the Corrugated Card Front. The last thing I added was some Gold Metallic Pearls. The inside layer has been stamped with a sentiment from the Special Celebrations stamp set.

My husband loves Nutty Buddy Cookies made by Little Debbie. So I made a little box to fit a Nutty Buddy packaged cookie pair. The finished box is 5" x 2 1/4". I used Soft Suede Cardstock for the base and some retired DSP (chosen for the pinecones in the paper)matted onto Very Vanilla to decorate it. I heat embossed a Happy Birthday from the Well Said stamp set and cut a fish tailed banner to go on the front of the box. I created another Everyday Label with the small Reindeer stamped on it. I cut the Soft Suede Label to just fit the box top and then adhered that to a Early Espresso piece I punched with the Story Label Punch. I popped up the Reindeer Label onto the Soft Suede Label with Dimensionals again. Used Liquid Glue  to adhere the completed label to the top of the box.

I love how this set turned out and can envision how I will change this up when the holidays roll around.
