SDBH - May - Annual Catalogue Sneak Peek

Welcome to the May Stampin' Dreams Blog Hop! Our theme for this month is Sneak Peaks from the new Annual Catalog that goes live on June 2nd. There are so many wonderful new things coming our way in the new catalog. I had a hard time deciding just what to purchase first. I finally decided it had to be the Bird Ballad Suite of products.

Today I will be showing you items created with the Free As A Bird Stamp set as well as the Stitched Nested Labels Dies.

The first card has some images that I watercolored with an AquaPainter. I started by Stamping the images onto Watercolor Paper with VersaMark Ink and then heat embossed with Black Stampin' Emboss Powder. I fussy cut the images out with my Snips. The bird is colored with Soft Suede and the new in color Trerracotta Tile. The flower is colored with just the Terracotta Tile. The leaf sprigs have been colored with Old Olive. The card front mat is Calypso Coral. I used the 3D Subtle Embossing Folder on the Whisper White card front. These have all been adhered to a Whisper White Thick Card Base with Liquid Glue. Then I added a 2" strip of the Bird Ballad DSP. I cut a rectangle with the 3rd smallest Rectangle Stitched Dies. Stamped the sentiment at the top of the rectangle. The leaf sprigs and flower were popped up with Dimensionals at the bottom of the rectangle. Then I used liquid glue to adhere the bird to the rectangle behind the flower and leaves. I adhered the Whisper White Stitched Rectangle to the Calypso Coral Stitched Rectangle and the card front with dimensionals. As you can see, the inside layer is stamped with the leaf sprig and a sentiment.

For the 2nd card I wanted to showcase the beautiful Bird Ballad DSP. Fussy cutting the bird & branch clusters and using them as the focal point of the card can be an easy to put together card. I know I am going to run out of the gorgeous sheet of birdcages quickly so I decided to make my own alternative using the leaf sprig stamp.

I took one of my Whisper White card fronts and sponged it with Calypso Coral ink. I used a circular motion as well as pouncing to achieve the background I wanted. Then I stamped with VersaMark Ink and heat embossed with White Stampin' Emboss powder. I cut this into 2" strips and used my Tailored Tag Punch to create a fishtailed banner. I adhered the banner to a piece of Petal Pink Cardstock that I had embossed with the 3D Subtle Embossing Folder. Can you tell that I love that one? I adhered the bird & branch image to the Whisper White Stitched Nested Label, I used the 4th smallest, with a lot of Mini Dimensionals. Then I used dimensionals again to adhere the label to the card front. The sentiment is heat embossed with White Stampin' Emboss Powder onto a strip of Calypso Coral Cardstock. I adhered the assembled card front to a Calypso Coral mat. My card base is Whisper White Thick with a Whisper White inside layer stamped with the leaf sprig in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink.
