Global Stamping Friends Blog Hop

Welcome to the February GSF Blog Hop! Our theme for this month is We Love Bundles. I know I do, how about you? There is nothing better than a well placed die cut or punched image to add that little bit of something special to a project. If you were to ask me which bundle was my favorite I would have to start that answer with a "my favorite today is or my favorite this week is". Stampin' Up! does a tremendous job of creating so many beautiful bundles for us to choose from. And to top that off, It's Sale-A-Bration time. This year they have pulled out all the stops.  But I digress, my favorite bundle this week, LOL, is the Bonanza Buddies Bundle! I adore the Koala Bear, the Toucan and the Lion. The Birthday Bonanza Designer Series Paper (DSP) is so bright and cheerful. And of course you can use the coordinating Bonanza Dies to cut these cuties out of the DSP too.

The 2 cards in the back are Gift Card Holders. But if you saw my post for the Third Thursdays Blog Hop you will have seen this could also be used as a fun fold card. I can thank the new Stitched So Sweetly Dies for this lovely card style. In front of the Gift Card Holders is a Nutty Buddy Treat Holder and a Shaker Tag.

Hopefully you can see more of the details in this photo of the Gift Card Holders. For instance, the lion has 4 pieces to him. The body and tail are one piece. His mane and tail tip are on one stamp and the face is a separate piece too. I decided I was going to make a template to stamp the faces, so that I could line them up properly. Well then I thought I should just make the template big enough to stamp the other pieces too. I cut piece of Whisper White Thick (5" x 7") and laid out all of the Bonanza Dies for the animals and cut them out on the Big Shot.
I placed the template in the Stamparatus and added the stamps
(one color at a time) and then placed my die cuts back in place and stamped them. This is really handy if you are doing multiple cards of the same design too.

Here is a look at the inside of the Gift Card Holder.

What a difference a cloud can make in my photos, LOL. Oh well, If I'm going to get this finished in time I need to leave it as is.

The Treat Holder is a box for the Nutty Buddy cookies my husband loves so much.  The box base is Bermuda Bay. I used the Birthday Bonanza DSP to decorate the box. The stitched oval is Coastal Cabana.

The Shaker Gift Tag is 2 of the Stitched Tags from the Bonanza Dies  that I cut from Bermuda Bay Cardstock. I used one of the Stitched Rectangles for the opening. I adhered some Window Sheet to this with Tear & Tape. I added adhesive strips to the edges of the Tag Front and then I put a couple of pinches of the sequins from the Metallic Baker's Twine & Sequins Combo Pack ( a Sale-A-Bration FREE Product) in the Shaker Tag. I fussy cut the Toucan w/Balloons from the DSP.  adhered the Toucan to the Tag with Glue Dots. The Sentiment Label was Heat Embossed in White Stampin' Emboss Powder on Basic Black Cardstock.

The Nutty Buddy Box. Please forgive me for how disjointed this post sounds. I had surgery to remove a skin cancer spot on my head yesterday and I have a lot of pain. Tylenol is just not working for me.

  1. Oh Jan, I really hope you're feeling better soon. Sending you healing good wishes. Your projects are amazing! I love the gift card holders - so neat and practical. This bundle of treats will definitely bring a lot of smiles. If you fancy a giggle, try googling Nutty Buddy like I did (we don't have that treat over here in the UK). Let's just say the first result wasn't what I was expecting! Thanks for sharing x

    1. OMG! Yeah that was a shocker. Little Debbie is the brand name for the cookies. They make inexpensive goodies for the different holidays. Thank you Rachel!

  2. Love, love, love these projects! Thanks for including the box directions, too. I hope you heal quickly, and can find something that works better for the pain. I really feel like there is not enough focus keeping people out of pain - and NO ONE should be in pain if there's anything that can help. Thanks so much for sharing :-D (ps: I was gonna look up Nutty Buddy because I don't know what it is either...but I think I'll heed Rachel's warning! hahaha...!)

    1. Thanks Kimberley! You are right about Pain issues. I have always been hard to medicate. Our lovely snow storm yesterday put a kink in things too. Could not get in to town to pick up a hand written prescription for pain meds so he had me try adding Motrin to the Tylenol and that did help some.

    1. Thanks Libby! This was my 3rd surgery for Skin Cancer and they were all different. I have a rare form of Leukemia and had Chemotherapy a few years ago. Ever since then these things crop up. I appreciate all of your well wishes.
