Global Stamping Friends Blog Hop: Flowers and Leaves

Welcome to the May GSF Blog Hop! This months theme is Flowers & Leaves. Now some of my favorite floral stamp sets are available in the spring Occasions Catalog. This time I have chosen to use the Climbing Roses Stamps set and the Coordinating Rose Trellis Thinlits to satisfy the GSF Blog Hop, Flowers and Leaves theme. I also chose to make this a Mother's Day card.

I started by stamping the floral images with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink. I colored those images with my Stampin' Blends Alcohol Markers I used Highland Heather Light and Granny Apple Green Light. I used a flicking motion where I could to keep the color on the light side. I also used the Color Lifter to highlight the rose petals and the leaves. To deepen the color I used my Watercolor Pencils, Gorgeous Grape and Garden Green. I really like the way this coloring method. The one

flower center that was visible was colored Crushed Curry. I cut the floral images out with the Rose Trellis Dies. I chose the soon to be retired Harwood Background Stamp to stamp my Whisper White Card Front in Gray Granite Ink, Stamping off a couple of times. I cut this out with the Rectangle Stitched Framelits. The sentiment comes from the Well Said Stamp Set and the coordinating Well Written Framelits. I used Gray Granite Cardstock and heat embossed with White Stampin' Embossing Powder. The Card Base is Gorgeous Grape Cardstock.

I hope you enjoyed my contribution to this month's hop as much as I enjoyed creating it. You can still get the Well Said Bundle and the Amazing Life Bundle which includes the Rectangle Stitched Framelits at the 10% off Bundle price until the end of the month or while supplies last. The Climbing Rose Bundle and the Hardwood Background Stamp will be retiring as well.

I have also entered this into the current challenge over on the Stamp, Ink, Paper Challenge Blog.
