2019 Kre8tors Blog Hop:Techniques

Welcome to the May Kre8tors Blog Hop! This month's theme is Techniques. Anything from a Fun Fold to a Stamping/Ink related technique was acceptable. My choice this time was Fun Folds. I have a new take on a Z fold card to show you today. I CASed this from Patty Bennett at https://bit.ly/2vIgx21. Ok, so it's not a Z fold card anymore, it's a Gift Card Holder now. I love to make them. when we get a new catalog the very first thing I look for is a set that screams Gift Card Holder. Now I know that I can convert some Z Folds into Gift card Holders too.

The Gummy Bear DSP on the Granny Apple Green Card Base is so bright and fun. I used the Rectangle Stitched Framelits on the DSP for this Card, adjusting the length or width of the Framelits to keep a consistent  look to my layers. It is so nice to be able to use the Jar of Sweets Framelits to cut the adorable Sweet Jars from the How Sweet It Is DSP. And of course the jar is full of Gummy Bears too. The Rectangle Stitched Sentiment Layer is Whisper White matted onto another Rectangle Stitched layer of Melon Mambo. I used Melon Mambo Ink for the Sentiments (both inside and out). And Granny Apple Green Ink for the Do-Dads on the Outside Sentiment Layer. Of course I popped up the cute little Gummy Bear Jar on Dimensionals.

Details -
Card Base: Granny Apple Green - 4 1/4" x 10 1/4", Scored at 5 1/2" & 8 1/4"
Inside Layer: How Sweet It Is DSP - 4 1/8" x 5 1/2"
Inside Sentiment Layer: Whisper White - 2 1/2" x 3 7/8"
Gift Card Flap: DSP - 1 7/8" x 3 7/8"
I used a 3/4" Circle Punch to cut the finger indent on the Gift Card Flap.
Card Base Front: DSP - 2 1/2" x 4 1/8" (finished - 2 1/4" x 3 15/16")
Sentiment Layer Mat: Melon Mambo - 2 7/8" x 4 1/4"
Sentiment Layer: Whisper White - 2 1/2" x 3 7/8"

Ok, I have one more to show you. My fellow demonstrators who are Crafters will like this one, I think. It is a Gift Card/Treat Holder. This one uses the same How Sweet It Is DSP  and the Birthday Cheer Stamp Set Too. As well as the Stitched Shapes Framelits and the Story Label Punch ( which will be available in June ).

I have a video for you on this one. You can find it at the bottom of this post.

Here are the details -
Box Bottom: Granny Apple Green - 5 1/8" x 6 1/4"
Scored @ 1/2" & 1 1/8" on all sides.
Box Cover: Melon Mambo - 4 1/8" x 7 3/4"
Scored @ 5/8", 3 1/2", 4 1/8", 7 1/8"
Gift Card Holder: Granny Apple Green - 3 7/8" x 7 1/4"
Scored @ 2 3/4" & 5 1/2"
Dsp: 2 @ 2 1/2" x 3 5/8"
        1 @ 1 1/2" x 3 5/8"
3rd Largest Stitched Oval: Granny Apple Green - 2 @ 2" x 3"
Story Label Punch: Melon Mambo - 1 3/4" x 2 5/8"
Second Smallest Layering Scalloped Oval: Melon Mambo - 1 5/8" x 2 5/8"

2 - 1/4 x 1/32 Inch Neodymium Magnets

As you can now see, this is now a Hershey's Nugget Treat/Gift Card Holder. I am growing very fond of Melon Mambo Cardstock paired with Granny Apple Green Cardstock. The Sentiments have been Heat Embossed with White Stampin' Emboss Powder. You will also need some 1/8" Tear & Tape.

I hope you like my contributions to this months blog hop and give one of these a try. They are both so much fun to make as well as so useful.

Now it is time to take a look at what Technique Jo Blackman has decided to show us.
