GSF Special Anniversary Blog Hop

Today marks the 1st Anniversary for the Global Stamping Friends Blog Hop. As a new member I stand in Ahh of the talent that can be found in this group. They have been together for only 1 year and are celebrating it with a special Anniversary Blog Hop. So as Sarah would say: " Grab a cup of coffee or tea and enjoy the hop".

My Anniversary Card is made from a brand new stamp set that will be available 14 days from now (September 1st). The Painted Harvest stamp set will be a very welcome addition to your fall stamp collection. It is a 2 step stamp set with a beautiful watercolor feel.

Card Details:

Card Base – Early Espresso Cardstock 119686,  5 ½” x 8 ½” scored at 4 ¼”.
Card Front, Inside Layer, Stitched Label and Leaf Branch – Very Vanilla Cardstock 101650,
Cut 2 at 4” x 5 ¼” (one is for the Inside Layer), 1 1/2" x 3"(Label) & Scraps for the Leaf Branches.
Ink – Crushed Curry 131173, Daffodil Delight 126944, Garden Green 126973 & Soft Suede 126978.
Stamp Set  - Painted Harvest Stamp Set 144783
Dies & Punch - Stitched Shapes Framelits 145372 & Leaf Punch 144667
3/8" Mini Chevron Ribbon - Crushed Curry 144197
Gold Faceted Gems 144141
Gold Metallic Foil Doilies 138392

Card Front– Stamp the Sunflower backgrounds in Daffodil Delight, Then use Crushed Curry to stamp the second stamp paying attention to the direction of each stamp. Use Soft Suede to stamp the centers (Stamp off once each time) I did stamp the centers more than once to cover the area, turning the stamp slightly each time (it can get too dark, so do this sparingly).

Sentiments – The Stitched Label on the Card Front and the Inside Layer are stamped with Soft Suede*.
After Stamping the " Happy Anniversary" Cut it with the small Stitched Square Shapes Framelit.

Leaves - Stamp the Leaf Branch with Garden Green. I Stamped off once with the background stamp onto scrap paper before stamping the leaf. Then Stamped full Strength with the detail stamp. Cut them out with the coordinating Leaf Punch.

Assembly -  I tied the bow onto the card front first. Slide the Gold Foil Doily under the ribbon. The Stitched label is popped up on Dimensionals. Tuck the Leaf Branches in under the Label with Glue Dots. Add the Gold Faceted Gems.

*I printed out a special Sentiment for the Inside Layer Just for the Hop.

Global Design Project 100 | CASE the Designer Celebration

Good Morning,

Today I am CASE-ing card made by Allison Okimitsu for the GDP100 Celebration. Each designer has created a new card.  Participants in this week's challenge will CASE one of the cards - or participate multiple times and CASE several cards. I probably started following this challenge blog back when they 1st started.  It is a lot of fun participating in a celebration of this sort. You can see the challenge at Global Design Project 100.

I absolutely love the Coffee Cafe Bundle. I am an avid  coffee drinker and this set is so great. The Coffee Break DSP has graphics you can cut out with the dies in the bundle. I had to buy the entire suite. So of course when I saw the coordinating Merry Cafe 144965 in the up coming Holiday Catalog I had to have that as well.

When I CASEd Allison's card I knew I was going to stay pretty close to her design. I hope she likes it.

Card Details:

Card Base - Old Olive Cardstock 100702
Card Front - Very Vanilla Cardstock 101650
Coffee Cup, Whipped Cream & Cozy - Very Vanilla
Holly Leaves - Wild Wasabi Cardstock 108641
Berries - Cherry Cobbler 119685
Inks - Old Olive 126953, Cherry Cobbler 126966 &

CAS(E) this Sketch #234

Hello again,

I am back today sharing another Sneak Peak from the up coming Holiday Catalog, which will be available starting September 1st. Unless you are a demonstrator. We are able to order a whole month in advance. I like that a lot. If you would like to join my team and Get $125.00 worth of Stampin' Up product for just $99.00 you could order now too. Please contact me. I would love to help you.

So, today I am play with the current challenge on the CAS(E) this Sketch Blog. I am really enjoying the Spooky Cat stamp set. There is even a new Cat Punch to go with it. Of course you have to get the Spooky Night Designer Series Paper that goes with it too.

Card Details:

Base - Basic Black Cardstock 121045, cut at 5 1/2" x 8 1/2", score at 4 1/4".
Card Front - Spooky Night DSP 144610, cut at 4" x 5 1/4".
Inside Layer - Very Vanilla Cardstock 101650, cut at 4" x 5 1/4".
Focal Point Layer - 3" x 3" piece of the Spooky Night DSP (It has the tree and the moon already there).
Focal Point Mat - Basic Black Cardstock.
Very Vanilla scrap - Sentiment.
Sentiment Mat - Spooky Night DSP.
Witches Hat - I cut this out of another sheet of the same DSP pack.
Black Rhinestone Jewels 144639, the owls eyes.
Baker's Twine 141682 - Black
Ink - Smokey Slate 131179 & Basic Black 121045.
Marvelous Marker - Cajun Craze & Basic Black ( available in the Neutrals Collection 131261).
Stamps - Spooky Cat 144749
Dies - Layering Squares Framelits 141708

Stamp the Owl in Smokey Slate. Color the beak and feet with Cajun Craze. I added a little more dimension to the hat by coloring in the underside of the hat brim with Basic Black. Then glue the hat on. Add the Black Rhinestones to the eyes. Glue this piece to the scalloped mat (I used the largest Scallop Framelit). I also cut the 3" X 3" Focal Point Layer with one of the Layering Squares Framelits to fit on the Scalloped mat. The sentiment was stamped in Basic Black. Use the Layering Squares Framelits to cut the sentiment (the smallest Scalloped Square and the next size up plain square for the mat). I popped up the whole thing onto the card front with Dimensionals. I wrapped Basic Black Baker's Twine around the card front twice and tied a bow. Glue the completed card front to the card base. Stamp the Trick or Treat on the inside layer and glue it to the inside of the card.

Hearts Come Home Sneak Peek!

Hello, hello,

Yesterday I received my pre order from the New Holiday Catalog. I was so excited I did not even unpack everything. I just dived right in to making this card. This set brings back fond memories of my craft show days with one of my best friends. Back in the day, LOL, I was a Tole Painter. I had a full wood shop in my garage and I or my husband cut the wood that I would then paint to sell at the craft fairs. One of my most popular Christmas items was a wooden Christmas Tree that stood on a heart base. It came with a set of red hearts that you could put your families names on and then glue them to the tree. On the heart base was the saying "All Hearts Come Home for Christmas".

The Hearts Come Home Stamps and the coordinating Hometown Greetings Edgelits Dies may melt your heart they way that they did mine. It combines 2 of my favorite things. The sentiment on the front of this card and the look of lighted houses. I have a set of Dept. 56 Houses that I put up every year at Christmas time. There is more to this set than what I am showing you today.  But let me get on to the details of the card for now.

Card Base - Night of Navy Cardstock cut at 4 1/4" x 11" scored at 5 1/2".
Whisper White Cardstock - cut 3 at 4" x 5 1/4 ' & 1 at 3 3/4" x 5"
Be Merry DSP - I used scraps to cut green overlays for the trees and then glued them to the edgelit
                           trees.
Gold Foil Sheets - I used scraps of the gold foil. Most of the windows can be cut from a 1/4" strip.
A couple of the windows required a 3/8" wide strip. I cut them all to the correct
length and then used Glue Dots to attach them behind the edgelit. It was a bit fussy
but well worth the time for the look it gave me.
Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper -  cut at 4" X 5 1/4". This piece is attached to the back of
the card front with Glue Dots. I did cut some stars from a scrap to use on the front.
Ink - Night of Navy, Garden Green and Craft, the Night of Navy is for both of the sentiments, the
Garden Green is used to stamp the trees on the inside layer,  the Craft is used to
splatter the card front to give the look of falling snow.
Stamps - Hearts Come Home
Dies - Hometown Greetings Edgelits Dies & Card Front Builder Thinlits Dies
I used the moon and stars die from the Card Front Builder Thinlits on the Night of
                              Navy Card Base.

Sunday Stamps... Weekly Challenge: ssc158 Be Square

Here is the card I created for the current challenge over at Sunday Stamps. This weeks sketch is for a square card. I don't make many of these, but I could not resist playing with the Carols of Christmas early release again. This year I have decided that every time I make a new Christmas card I will make 6 of them. I think that will help me get them ready to mail out earlier this year. Of course if I see a squirrel (my favorite word for distraction), I could still get into trouble.

Details:

Carols of Christmas Bundle (Clear)- 146037
Tranquil Tide Cardstock cut at 5 1/4" x 10 1/2".
Card Front - Delightful Daisy DSP
Tranquil Tide Cardstock - Cut the Trees and the smaller banner.
Whisper White Cardstock - inside layer is 5" square, the focal point on the front is cut with the Stitched Shapes Framelits Dies (largest square).
Silver Foil Sheet - Large Scalloped Square mat. (Layering Squares Framelits), Silver Strip 7/8" x 5", Silver Deer, larger banner.
Ink - Tranquil Tide - Stamp the sentiments, inside and outside,
Window Sheet - I cut a stencil with the Tree Dies and then used a sponge dauber to color in the trees on the inside layer.
Nature Sings Stamp Set - inside layer Sentiment.
Metallic Enamel Shapes & Rhinestone Basic Jewels - Accents on the upper left corner.

Happy Wednesday Everyone,

Well its monsoon season in Colorado and it rained, rained, rained. Everything is soaked. My flowers will enjoy it though. They will be all perky for a couple of days before they need water again. Of course it will probably rain again today too. Sigh. Well thats enough ranting.

This is a early release from the up coming 2017 Holiday Catalog, and will be available for purchase on August 1st, a whole month before the Holiday Catalog goes live. The holiday season can be a total blur for me. So I really appreciate any jump I can get on this card making season. So let me show you what I have put together.

SUO Challenge #179 – New Fun from Stampin’ Up!

Good Morning,

I have been on a gift card holder kick lately. Every time I look at a new Stamp set I think "Wow, that would make a great gift card holder." Sooo... here it is. Please take a look at the other 2 I  made as well. They are in the previous post.

Todays project is for the SOU Challenge #179 - New Fun from Stampin' Up. I like this Gift Card Holder Template a lot. I've seen it all over Pinterest and the net and can't honestly say which one is better. You can adjust the size of the front to accommodate whatever you choose to show on the inside off to the right. This time I used my NEW Coffee Cafe Bundle. The stamps and dies are just too cute together.
The base is Early Espresso Cardstock and measures 4 1/4" x 11", scored at 5 1/2" and again at 9". The card front is 3 1/4" x 4", I used the coordinating DSP, Coffee Break for this as well as the inside card flap which is 1 3/4" x 4". The inside piece is Whisper White and measures 4" x 5 1/4". I stamped the sentiment in Garden Green Ink and the little Coffee Beans, Coffee Cup Lid and the oval sentiment in Early Espresso ink. I cut the Coffee Cup out of the Coffee Break DSP. Then cut it and the lid using the Coffee Cups Framelits. After I stamped the Thanks a Latte oval I cut it with the oval framelit from the same set. Then I layered the oval on top of a oval Corrugated Element. The half circle on the Gift Card flap was cut with a 1 1/4" Circle Punch. I taped the flap down with Tear-nTape. I put a strip of Soft Sky Cardstock under the Old Olive Mini Chevron Ribbon just to make it stand out a little more. I popped up the Coffee Cup with Dimensionals.

Don't forget Bonus Days are still going on this month. For every $50, before tax & shipping, you spend, you will receive a $5 coupon you can use in August.

Global Design Project 093 | Colour Challenge

Good Afternoon Everyone,

It's been a long time since my last post. Things have been a little busy around here. We had a couple of things to do at home this spring. We had ordered a Murphy Bed to put in one of our spare rooms, and in the process decided to paint that wall a different color. We chose the same green we used on our sort of feature wall in the living room. Fortunately I had a gallon left over from that project. Plus we added a new closet organizer in that room and we needed to hang the new bifold doors we had bought to go in that closet(which I had to paint). If that wasn't enough, we needed to finish the bathroom in my room. We added a Barn Door to that bathroom(Which I had to seal and varnish).

Then it was my turn to host our monthly Bunco night. That was the 3rd week in May.  I wanted to share a photo of the table signs I made for our group. They turned out so stinkin' cute. I used our new Fresh Florals Designer Series Paper Stack - 144131. I chose the new Lemon Lime Twist color so that my signs would stand out easily when you are looking for the correct table.
Bunco Table Signs
I also used the Number of Years Stamp set - 140653 as well as the coordinating Large Numbers Framelits - 140622. I mounted the numbers onto the Oval Stitched Shapes Framelits - 145372, and then matted the oval on the Scalloped Oval from the Layering Ovals Framelits - 141706. I used Wild Wasabi Ink and Cardstock to contrast with the new Lemon Lime Twist. Too too cute.

On to the main reason for this post. The Global Design Project 093 | Color Challenge. My project for this challenge is a Gift Card Holder. I totally love this bundle. From the cute little two step flowers to the fabulous Happy Birthday Thinlit.
Inside of the Gift Card
I can see myself using this set for a lot of birthdays this year. But I wanted to do something different for this challenge. So I decided on a Gift Card Holder. You can never have too many. Especially with friends and relatives living out of town.
Here are the details:

Card Base - Pool Party Cardstock - 122924
Inside Layer, Card Front, Pocket Front and Sentiment Banner - Whisper White Cardstock - 1008730
Happy Birthday Die Cuts - Berry Burst Cardstock - 144243, Pool Party Cardstock - 122924, Lemon Lime Twist Cardstock - 144245. Layered up to add dimension.
Ink - Berry Burst - 144083,  Lemon Lime Twist - 144086 and Pool Party - 126982

This is another one I made that is a little bit different.
I used Old Olive and Whisper White for the colors

Good Evening Friends,

There comes a time when we need to express our sorrow over someone close to us that has passed on. It's important to let the ones you love know how you feeling that you understand how they feel and what they are going through. Stampin' Up created a set that, for me, is perfect for this type of situation. Flourishing Phrases Stamp Set and the coordinating Flourish Thinlits Dies. I have used them today to create the card for the SUO Challenge #172 - Sympathy and Caring. The color scheme is Basic Black and Whisper White.

This set is offered as a bundle with a 10% savings that will expire the end of May. After that they will still be available but at full price for each item. So now is the time to purchase them.

UPDATE - Just wanted to say Thank You to all of you over at SUO Challenge Blog for choosing this card as one of the Top 3.

I was able to purchase a selection available only to Demonstrators so that we can start previewing new items to you. They are on the way and I will soon be able to play with them. I can't wait to show them to you.

I wanted to share the Swaps I made to take to Onstage. We make card fronts and take them to onstage to swap with other Demonstrators. This is a lot of fun. I took one made from the Falling Flowers bundle, one from the Dragonfly Dreams bundle and I also participated in a Gift Card Holder swap.
The new Catalog will be here June1, 2017. With all of the new craft goodies coming there is a need to make room for them. So some of your favorite items will be retiring soon. If there is an item you wanted but have not purchased it yet, now is the time, while supplies last. It may even be discounted. Time is critical.  Check out everything that is retiring and start your shopping HERE.

SOU Challenge #171

Hello Everyone,

Today I have created a card for the SOU Challenge #171. I chose flowers for the theme. We in Colorado had a few days of warm weather and blessed sunshine which always gives me an itch to start on my garden. But the ground is still frozen so I am forced to wait a while longer. I have managed a little clean up out there though.
Inside the card.

I purchased the Penned & Painted stamp set a while back so I thought this would be a great opportunity to break it out and ink it up. I am very fond of this style of stamping. I started with the Basic Black ink and Embossed it with Clear Embossing powder to do the outline of the flowers and the leaves. I cut many post it note masks to cover up the flowers starting with the center one. Then with all of the flowers masked off I stamped the leaves and embossed them too. I used the leaf detail stamp  in Bermuda Bay to stamp the inner leaf areas. I grabbed my Aqua Painter and blended the Bermuda Bay into the edge of the flowers and smoothed out the stamped areas. Next I uncovered the 2 daisies and inked up their detail stamps with So Saffron and added that to the daisy centers. Once again I used the Aqua Painter to smooth and extend the stamped centers. I then repeated that process with the center flower and it's detail stamp using Flirty Flamingo. I used Smoky Slate around the outer edges to give it some depth. The Sentiments are from the Birthday Blooms stamp set. The last but not least item was some Gold Wink of Stella scattered around the card. The card base is Bermuda Bay Cardstock. The mat is Flirty Flamingo Cardstock. I used Whisper White Cardstock for the focal piece. The sentiments are stamped in Basic Black.

I'll be on my way to my 1st OnStage experience in just a couple of days. I will have a few new goodies to share with you from our up coming Annual Catalog. Until then...

I WOULD LOVE TO BE YOUR DEMONSTRATOR!

Sunday Stamps SSC146

Good Morning,

I have been having so much fun with the new Beautiful You Stamp Set. I have done everything from watercolor to paper piecing with the images, oh and using the new Watercolor Pencils too. Today I am sharing the Paper Piece Card that I made for the Sunday Stamps SSC146 - Getting Sketchy Challenge.
I used colors from a color challenge over on the Paper Players Challenge blog. The colors were Blushing Bride, Smoky Slate and Copper Foil. I also used the falling petals paper found in the Falling in Love Designer Series Paper. It was just perfect for the dress and hat. I did not have the Copper Foil Paper so I used Copper embossing under my Detailed Floral Thinlits cutout. I also tied some Copper Metallic Thread around my Card Front. I used the Stitched Shapes Framelits Dies to cut my smaller oval around my image and then matted it on to a slightly larger Oval that I cut using the Layering Ovals Framelits Dies.
Below you will find a list of items I used to create this card. You can purchase them thru me by clicking on the Shop Online link to the right.
