Global Design Project 066

Good afternoon,

Here I am at last. It has been about a month since my last post. We were on vacation in Yellowstone for 2 weeks, then busy trying to find a newer vehicle. We still have not found one, so I am a hermit for a while longer.

Todays card is based on the sketch from the Global Design Project #066. I have fallen in love with the Dragonfly Dreams Bundle ( You save 10% when you buy the bundles) which is in the new Occasions 2017 catalog. I love Dragonflies. I take pictures of them, I have dragonfly jewelry, I just love dragonflies. So this new set is perfect for me. The new catalog is available free with any purchase in my store. If you have ordered from me in the past year you will receive your catalog in the mail.

Card Base - Soft Sky Cardstock
Card Front - Watercolor Paper
Dragonfly & Sentiment Tag - Whisper White
Ink - Blushing Bride, Soft Sky, Sahara Sand, Island Indigo.
Linen Thread

I started the Card Front by brushing on some water. Then inking up the dotted border stamp first in Sahara Sand and then in Soft Sky and lastly in Blushing Bride I started stamping on the wet paper. If it starts to dry spritz a little more water on it. I played with this until I liked it. The after it had dried I Stamped the Flowers from Awesomely Artistic in Versamark and embossed it with white embossing powder. The Dragonfly is stamped and embossed as well. I used a blender pen dipped in Island Indigo towards the inside of the wings and Soft Sky in the wing tips. When I die cut the dragonfly I cut an extra one and glued them together for a little more support as I popped it up on the card with Dimensionals. The sentiment is stamped in Sahara Sand.

One more thing, Stampin Up's Sale-A-Bration starts January 4th too. For every $50.00 Purchase you make, before Tax & Shipping, you can choose a free item from the Sale-A-Bration catalog. Who doesn't like free?

What Will You Stamp? #89

Good Morning,

Yes, it is still morning and yes, this is my second post today. Did I mention that I have been playing with the newest most fabulous Stitched Shapes Framelits(145372)? I am sure I gushed all over that post as well. I am a huge fan of Stitched Dies. I am sure I will be haunting the Card Sketches on the Pinterest boards soon.

The Card I created for the What Will You Stamp #89 challenge uses a stamp from the Suite Seasons Stamp Set (142209). I really like this set. It has stamps for all the Fall/Winter Holidays. And my Oval Stitched Shapes Framelit fit the Give Thanks stamp so well.

The Card Base - Delightful Dijon Cardstock
Mats - Basic Black Cardstock
Stitched Shape (Oval 3rd largest) Framelet - Whisper White Cardstock
Stampin' Up Ink - Delightful Dijon
Bakers Twine & Gold Sequins

I am also submitting this card to the SIP Challenge 73, and The Paper Players #320.

Cookie-Cutter Halloween & TGIF Challenge

Well It's Monday again,

Today I am posting a card I made for the TGIF Theme Challenge #73. The "negative space" reminded me of the cute Peek-A Boo card Bibi Cameron made.  So I Cased that card with just a few changes.

The Card Base and the little black rings around the "Negative Spaces" are Basic Black Cardstock.
The Card Front, Tag Front, Cookie-Cutter Halloween Cut-Outs, and the Inside piece are Whisper White Cardstock, 100730.
The Tag is cut from the Playful Palette DSP Stack, 141657.
The cardstock behind the circle out-outs and the Vampire's Bow Tie, are cut from a scrap piece of Peek-A-Boo Peach Cardstock, 141417.
I cut the Tag using the Scalloped Tag Topper Punch, 133324, on a 2 in piece of Playful Palette DSP. The bottom of the tag was cut with the Banner Triple Punch, 138292.
The Tag Front is a 1 3/4 in strip, rounded at the top with the Project Life Corner Punch, 135346.
The Sentiment on the tag is from the Suite Seasons stamp set, 142209. I colored the stamp with a Pumpkin Pie Stampin'Write Marker, 142032. Then stamped the Bats, from the Cookie-Cutter Halloween stamp set, 142255,  in Basic Black Ink, 140931.
The cute little Vampire, Skeleton, and Mummy from the Cookie-Cutter Halloween set are stamped in Basic Black Ink.
I also stamped the Skeleton and the BOO in Basic Black Ink on the Inside Card Piece.
The circles on the Card Front were cut with a 1 3/8 in Punch, 119860. The Black Rings were first cut with a 1 1/2 in Punch, 138299 and then cut with the 1 3/8 in Punch. I glued the Black Rings on with the Fine Tin Glue Pen,138309.
I glued the Tag Front onto the Tag, added some Dimensional's, 104430, to the back of the Tag and popped it up onto the Card Front.
The Card Front is raised using the Foam Adhesive Strips. If you have not used these before, Bibi has a video on how she did her card using the Foam Adhesive Strips on her blog.

I have tried to include all the catalog numbers for items used to crate this card. Just to make it easier for you to find them.

The DSP Circle is from the Candy Cane Lane DSP. The darling Gingerbread Man and the sentiment are stamped on Whisper White. The sentiment is stamped in Real Red Ink and the Gingerbread Man is stamped in Crumb Cake. I used the Fine Tip Glue Pen on his hands, feet, buttons and bangs, then sprinkled Dazzling Diamonds on it for little extra Sparkle. His bow tie is Red Glimmer Paper. The final touch on the Card Front are Gold Sequins. The sentiment inside, again, is on Whisper White Cardstock. SIP Challenge #65 – Monochromatic & Flurry of Wishes

Happy Thursday,

I was a day late on a sketch challenge, but still loved the sketch, so I used it for SIP Challenge #65. The Monochromatic theme challenge over on the Stamp, Ink, Paper Challenge Blog. Whenever I think ONE color I almost alway gravitate towards Night of Navy Ink and the Flurry of Wishes stamp set. You can't do that without including the Softly Falling Snow Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. It just works. I cut the Snowflakes with the Snow Flurry Punch. The circles are Punches too, the 1 1/4 in & the 1 3/8 in Punches. The Card Base is Night of Navy Cardstock and the Card Front is Whisper White Cardstock. I just had to add a little sparkle.

Wrapped in Warmth & SUO Challenge #157

Hello again,

Today the theme over at the Stampin Up' - Only Challenge Blog is All Kinds of Weather - #157! Time to break out the Cable Knit Sweaters. I'm serious. Because I did. I live in Evergreen, Colorado and I believe fall has arrived. The Aspens are turning yellow and the daytime temperature was below 60, actually I think it tried hard to get to 55. You can hear the male Elk bugling daily, rutting season is in the fall. So I'm thinkin' it's time to think warm.

My card  today features the Wrapped in Warmth Stamp set, as well as the Cable Knit Dynamic Textured Embossing Folder. I started by using my Warmth & Cheer Washi Tape on the Card Front in a diagonal design. There are actually 5 different designs but I used only 4. The Card Front is Whisper White Cardstock. I wound up cutting the diagonal portion apart before running the remaining 2 white pieces through the Big Shot with the Cable Knit Embossing folder. I then glued all 3 pieces back together on the Card Base which is Crumb Cake Cardstock. The sentiment is stamped onto Whisper White Cadstock in Cherry Cobbler Ink and then matted onto a piece of the Warmth & Cheer Designer Series Paper Stack. The little tree is again stamped onto Whisper White Cardstock in Garden Green Ink. I Fussy Cut the tree and popped it up on a 1 1/4" circle with Dimensionals. I cut the circle with a 1 1/4" punch on the same Warmth & Cheer paper. The last thing I did was to add some Green Metallic Thread under the sentiment mat and again used Dimensionals to pop it up on the card too. Wait until you see the tags I made with the same suite.

If you live in the Evergreen, Co area my next Christmas Card Stamp-A-Stack is Saturday, October 10th, from 10 am - 2 pm. You can check my Facebook page for details.

Cookie-Cutter Christmas Gift Card Holder

Hello Everyone,

Last night I created a new Gift Card Holder for this Christmas. It's actually an update to Dawn Griffith's Gift Card Holder that she made last year. If you click on the link it will take you to her wonderful video. I thought the little Gingerbread man would make a nice alternative. I used the Candy Cane Lane Designer Series Paper as well as the Real Red Cardstock. I stamped the Gingerbread man in Crumb Cake. The Gingerbread man has a Red Glimmer Paper Bow at his neck. You can't see it, but I used the fine tip glue pen on the hands, feet, buttons and hair to add some Dazzling Diamonds for a little  more sparkle. He is glued to a Gold Metallic Foil Doily, then I popped it up with some Dimensionals onto a Layering Circles Framelit. The sentiment is from the Teeny Tiny Wishes set and is stamped in Real Red Ink. The outline that is stamped in Crumb Cake Ink is from the Thoughtful Banners set and was cut out using the new Classic Label Punch. I also used the punch to cut the hole for the gift card too. That made it very easy.

Merriest Wishes & The Paper Players #PP311

Good Morning,

The Paper Players Blog has a fun challenge this week. #PP311 - A Circles Theme, sounds like ornaments to me. Just an excuse to create another Ornament card with the Merriest Wishes stamp set and dies. This time I went with more traditional colors.

The card base is Real Red Cardstock.
Card Front is Whisper White Cardstock that has been embossed with the Pine Bough Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. I used a sponge dauber to lightly color the raised areas in Garden Green Ink. The background has been stamped with a snow stamp from the Holly Jolly Greetings set in Soft Sky.
The Reindeer Ornament is a combination of 2 dies from the Merry Tags Framelits Dies. It is the cutest tag. I cut the front piece in Whisper White. Stamped the sentiment in Real Red Ink. Used a dauber to color the reindeer in Crumb Cake. I added a nose and eye with a Crumb Cake Marker too. I also cut another front piece in Garden Green Cardstock and hand cut the trees to layer on top of the white trees on the tag. The tiny gold star is a by product of another die in the Merry Tags set. The back piece was cut from Whisper White and stamped with the snow stamp in the Merriest Wishes stamp set in Soft Sky Ink. I glued the 2 pieces together and added a bow made with Gold Metallic Thread. I added some Dimensionals to the back to pop it up on the card.
The other 2 ornaments are stamped first in Real Red Ink on Whisper White Cardstock and then cut with the Dies in the Merry Tags Framelits set. They also have Gold Metallic Thread bows and are popped up on the card with Dimensionals.
The Merry Christmas is stamped in Real Red Ink and cut out with a die from the Bunch of Banners Framelits. This one die will cut the banner and the frame at the same time. So I cut another one in Real Red Cardstock and put the 2 together. So Cool. The sentiment comes from the Flurry Of Wishes set. I also used another sentiment from that set for the inside of the card.
The final touch was a little bling in the form of some Gold Sequins.

The very first card I made (small picture here) with this set has been saved more than 1,000 times on Pinterest. Pretty amazing. You can purchase everything you need for these cards from me by clicking on the Holiday Catalog link at the right. I will be including these cards in my up coming Christmas Card Workshops for sure.

Flurry Of Wishes & Freshly Made Sketches #252

Hello Again,

The Freshly Made Sketches team is hosting a fun challenge this week. Karren Johnson created Sketch #252 and the designers did an outstanding job creating cards for the sketch. I know it inspired me.

I am still in a Holiday mood, thanks to our new products in the 2016 Holiday Catalog. But this time I have used a set that is in the Annual Catalog. It was carried over from last years holiday catalog. I cased this card from one of the examples in the catalog.

Flurry Of Wishes is the stamp set I used for the card.
Card Base & Card Front are Whisper White cardstock.
The 1 inch strip at the bottom is Sweet Sugarplum Cardstock and I added some Washi Tape from the Playful Palette Designer Washi Tape set. I stamped the background with a stars & snow stamp from the Holly Jolly Greetings set in Sweet Sugarplum Ink. I stamped off twice to lighten the effect. Then I stamped 3 of the 4 Snowflakes available in the Flurry Of Wishes stamp set in Sweet Sugarplum Ink, stamping off to create different intensities of color. One of the small Snowflakes is stamped on Vellum. I used my Flower Medallion Punch to cut the large one and the other ones were cut with the co-ordinating Snow Flurry Punch. I love my punches. I taped off the sentiment stamp to use just the bottom 2 lines and stamped Believe In The Miracle in Sweet Sugarplum. I used one of the dies from the new Bunch Of Banners Framelits. I popped up the large Snowflake with some Dimensionals and added some Silver Metallic Thread behind it. The final touch was adding some Rhinestone Basic Jewels to the center of the Snowflakes.

MoJo Monday 463 & Thoughtful Branches Bundle

Hello

I wanted to show another take on a Christmas card using the Thoughtful Branches stamp set. The Mojo Monday 463 sketch was the perfect avenue for this card. Tall & skinny and so is the pine tree in the card. I've always had a thing for tall & skinny trees.

Today is the last day to purchase this bundle. It was a limited time offer.

I chose to use the This Christmas Specialty Designer Series paper as the background for the art piece. Love the colors. The sentiments are from Flurry Of Wishes which is still available in the Annual Catalog.

Another Merriest Wishes Sneak Peak

Good Morning,

I loved the way the last card I made with the Merriest Wishes Bundle turned out so much I decided to try it again with a little different approach. It also shows off some of the other different elements in the bundle. Both cards were so quick to make and yet so striking.

This time my color choices were Night of Navy, Silver Foil, Whisper White, and Smokey Slate.
Card Base - Night Of Navy Cardstock
Card Front - Whisper White Cardstock Embossed with the Pine Bough Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. I used a sponge dauber pounced in Smokey Slate to color the raised image. Love It.
Reindeer Ornament - The reindeer & tree front piece is cut with the Merry Tags Framelits Die on Silver Foil Paper. The background piece is also a die from the same set that I cut on Night Of Navy Cardstock. I then stamped the snow using White Craft Ink and the stamp is from the Merriest Wishes stamp set. I glued the 2 together using the Fine Tip Glue Pen. Tied a bow with the Silver Metallic Thread and popped the ornament up on the card with some Dimensionals.
Medium Ornament - I stamped this ornament with Night Of Navy Ink onto Whisper White scraps and then cut it out with the medium circle die included in the Merry Tags Framelits. I also cut the ornament top with a die from the same set out of some Night Of Navy Scraps. I glued this to the back of the medium ornament. Then I added a Silver Metallic Thread bow to the top of the ornament. I used Dimensionals to pop this ornament up on the card to.
Small Ornament - Again, I stamped the smallest Ornament in the Merriest Wishes set with Night Of Navy Ink onto Whisper White Scraps. Cut it out with the smallest ornament die from the Merry Tags Framelits. Tied another bow and added Dimensionals, attached the last ornament to the card.
Added a few Silver Sequins - retired.
Sentiments are from the Flurry Of Wishes stamp set. The one on the front is cut with a die from the Bunch Of Banners Framelits Dies. I love the fact that I can cut a mat to fit the center banner.

The embossing folder stamps & dies will be available for purchase starting September 1st.

Global Design Project #GDP050

Hello Everyone,

Today I am working with sketch #GDP050 from the Global Design Project Blog. I also have another Sneak Peek from the up-coming Holiday Catalog. I am having such fun playing with the new stamps. I know you will too.

I used 2 stamp sets on this card. The predominant set is Stitched With Cheer. I used Cherry Cobbler Ink to create the knitted piece with a stamp and just kept repeating all the way up. I sponged the edges with a dauber pounced in Crumb Cake.  If I do it again, and I will, I will keep my rows closer together. But I am still pleased with the look. The striped DSP under the knitted layer is from the annual catalog, This Christmas Specialty Designer Series Paper (DSP). The card base is Cherry Cobbler Cardstock. The sentiment is stamped in Garden Green Ink on a Tags & Labels Framelit. I used a fine tip Black Ink Pen to line around the label. It too is sponged with Crumb Cake Ink around the edge. The spray of Holly comes from the Holly Berry Happiness set, but is overlaid with holly leaves I stamped with the Stitched With Cheer set and then cut out with the Holly Berry Builder Punch. The Bow is also from the same set and cut with the punch as well. I added some back stitching to the Holly leaves with Gold Baker's Twine. The sparkle on the leaves does not show well. The Garden Green Baker's Twine was used to add Stitching to the knitted layer. The final touch, is the Holly Berries, which are Basic Pearl Jewels.

All of the wonderful new products will be available on September 1st. So, please consider purchasing them from me. Don't forget the last day to purchase the Thoughtful Branches Bundle is August 31st.

Thoughtful Branches Card

Hi Everybody,

I wanted to post this Christmas Card and show everyone how beautiful it is. We did this at a Christmas Stamp-A-Stack held by my up-line. The reason I am posting it, is that it is a limited item. Both the Thoughtful Branches Stamp Set and the co-ordinating dies will expire on 8/31/16. That's only 1-1/2 wks away, and then that bundle will be retired.

The tree is cut with the Beautiful Branches Thinlits dies on Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer paper. The little red bird in the tree is stamped in Real Red Ink and then cut with a die from the Beautiful Branches Thinlits Die set too. I think you can just make out the glimmer in the tree. The ground line under the tree is stamped in Versamark, then embossed in White embossing powder. I added a shade line with my Blender Pen in Soft Sky. The sentiment comes from the My Hero set of 12 stamps that help to support the Ronald McDonald House Charities and is stamped in  Real Red Ink. The Real Red  Cardstock was used as a mat for the card front which is Shimmery White Cardstock. The price for the  Thoughtful Branches Bundle is just $52.00 US. This set has so much versatility you will be amazed at the different possibilities.

As always,

Holly Berry Happiness Sneak Peek, a Z Fold Card and a challenge or 2

Hello  There,

I've got a couple of great things to show you today, and they are together too. Anybody who knows me, knows I hate Fussy Cutting anything. That's what Dies & Punches are for. We just need more of them, right? But when I started playing with the 2 step stamping on the Holly Berry Branch, I knew I was going to have to cut a mask to do the back leaf. Well, one cut out lead to another, and another. Then when I punched out the Bow with the Holly Berry Builder Punch I knew I had something cute. So, what to do with it? I then remembered a seeing Z fold card video tutorial on Dawn's Blog. Guess what came next?

The sentiments on this set are very sweet. I can see myself building little clusters of holly leave on all my holiday cards. Well, maybe not all of them. There is more fun to come in the coming weeks.

My card base is Cherry Cobbler Cardstock - 4 1/4" X 11".
Z fold action piece is Garden Green Cardstock - 2 1/2" X 10" scored at 4" and 8".
The card front is from This Christmas Specialty Designer Series Paper - 4" X 5 1/4".
I used Whisper White Cardstock for the Lots of labels focal point
and the 2 inside pieces - 2 1/4" X 3 3/4".
I cut the bow from a scrap of Real Red Cardstock after I stamped the Bow image in Cherry Cobbler.
(Using the Holly Belly Builder Punch)

I stamped the sentiments in Cherry Cobbler Ink and the Holly images in Emerald Envy. The Snowflakes are from the Perpetual Birthday Calendar set and are stamped in Soft Sky Ink.
I used some Rhinestone basic jewels in some of the snowflakes.

The Holly Berry Happiness stamp set and the Holly Berry Builder Punch will be available for purchase after September 1st. Both are also available in a bundle which will save you 10%.

I using this card for the following Challenges. SU-Only Challenge Blog, #154. We were challenged to use Stampin Up' Dies in our project. Paper Craft Crew Challenge PCC206. We were to use Designer Series Paper in our project.

Pals Paper Arts #313

Hello Everyone,

How's your day going? I have had a great day. The weather has cooled down a bit and the breeze is much appreciated. Today I am playing with the Color Challenge over at the Pals Paper Arts Blog.

The colors really work well together. Even better when I blended them together on my leaves. The Thoughtful Branches Bundle has been so much fun to work with. If you haven't purchased your set yet, you can go to my store and order it today. You won't be sorry.
Below is another card I made for a friend in Alcohol Recovery. She wanted a Thank You for her sponsor. Hydrangeas are one of my favorite flowers.

I used Tip Top Taupe for the trees on Whisper White Cardstock. The oval is matted onto Crumb Cake. The Peekaboo Peach funky plaid is from the Playful Pallette Designer Series Paper Stack. I stamped the Happy Thanksgiving from the Teeny Tiny Wishes in Soft Suede and the Flirty Flamingo Outline Stamp is from the Thoughtful Banners Set. I also used the Classic Label Punch to cut it out, then matted it onto Crumb Cake. For the leaves I just tipped my stamp into all three ink pads and it turned out wonderful. Then I cut them out with the Beautiful Branches Thinlits Dies.
I added some Flirty Flamingo Ruched Ribbon and and some Linen Thread to finish it off.

You only have until the end of the month to purchase the Thoughtful Branches bundle. It is a limited time offer. The price is $52.00. You save 10% that way.

Paper Craft Crew Sketch Challenge #PCC205

Hello Again,

Well, I am back to post a new Christmas Card using the Paper Craft Crew's Sketch PCC205. I love  to play with their sketches. So much fun.

I have to confess the reason why I turned this sketch into a Holiday Card. I had just placed my order for a few of the new items in the up-coming Holiday Catalog and was just itching to get my hands on them. Instead I decided to work on samples for one of my Christmas Card Workshops. I think this card is a good candidate, don't you?

The Wondrous Wreath Set has been a favorite of mine for a while now. The sentiments are great and you got to love the fonts. AND it co-ordinates with the Wonderful Wreath Framelits. Both are available in the Annual Catalog. The colors I chose for the wreath are Wild Wasabi and Garden Green. The banner sentiment is Cherry Cobbler and the stamp is in the Oh, What Fun set. The inside Sentiment is in the Wondrous Wreath set. The snowflakes can be found in the Perpetual Birthday Calendar set. These I stamped in Soft Sky. The large banner is Crumb Cake and I ran it through the Big Shot with the Woodgrain Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. I used Red Glimmer Paper for the bow and the ribbon. The card base is Cherry Cobbler and the card front is Whisper White.

Holiday Catalog 2016 Sneak Peek

Hello Everyone,

I hope your summer has been going as well as mine has. We started off in June with my wonderful kids throwing a 50th Anniversary party for us. Family and friends came from all over. It was very special and I will always remember it. A couple of our friends arrived in their motorhome for the party and pretty much stayed with us for about 6 weeks ( My son in law and grandson had created an RV space down in front of our house). We had such a great time. I was sad to see them finally leave but I know they will be back. There is a lot more to see and do in Colorado. Since then, around the middle of July I had Cataract surgery in my right eye. I will be so happy when they get the other one done too. That will be in 2 weeks. Yeah!!

So, my first post in quite a little while is a Sneak Peek at a couple of the new items that will be available in the Holiday Catalog starting in September.

The new Pine Bough Textured Impressions' Embossing Folder makes a great background for the beautiful ornaments on this card. One of which is a Shaker Ornament. How cute is that? The new Merriest Wishes Stamp Set and Merry Tags Framelits Dies are the products I used to create this card. You can also make them up as tags to go on your gifts.

One of the perks of being a Demonstrator is the ability to order our products before they go live. If you are a Serious Stampin' Up Collector this might appeal to you as well. This set could be a part of your kit. I would love to have you on my team.

Here is another look at this set as shown in the new Holiday Catalog.

I WOULD LOVE TO BE YOUR DEMONSTRATOR!
If you are in the United States and need a demonstrator, then you can order your supplies in my online store Here. Thanks for looking!
